Race Weekend -- Hopeful Friday

A great website for racing is NYVelocity.com. One of my friends from racing, Dan, is a key writer for the website (and a founder of it).
He always writes a column on the upcoming weekend's events. For us, the key events are different (sort of) because we care about triathlons and we are in Connecticut.
The key events for cyclists this weekend are the Prospect Park race (that is in NYC) and the Donovan Naugatuck Criterium (in Naugatuck CT). A lot of us will compete in the Naugatuck event.
There is also the sprint triathlon being held in Norwalk. A bunch of us will do that race, too.
These events are why we train. They are just plain fun.
One of our clients did Mt. Washington last week. Phil Clifford, who decided that he doesn't suffer enough in our training sessions, took to the slopes in New Hampshire and rode up the 12%+ grade for 7+ miles in 1:19. Tom Danielson, who weighs 128 pounds and finished 8th in the Vuelta last year did it in 49 minutes. Tom is a sweet heart and a gentleman (not that Phil isn't).
We're proud of all of us who are out there doing our best (that means trying).
Best of luck this weekend.
