A snapshopt of a TTorque workout

Ever wonder what real data from one of our Torque classes looks like? Below is a snapshot of the power file that TT Coach Eneas Freyre produced during a Tuesday mornings (3/5/13) indoor cycling interval class.

Looking at power files is a very helpful to micro manage a particular workout, or piece together a larger macro cycle of work. TT Coaches have years of experience with this kind of data analyses and we highly recommend TT Members to sit down with our coaches to have them help breakdown your training.

In looking at the below workout, the goal of the class was to complete a long sustainable interval that cris crossed the 90% intensity marker. In this particular case the effort was 45+min in length and we can see that the Eneas ave. an intensity for the interval just beyond 97% (which included a slow start). By definition 1hr maximal effort = 100% so this was a big effort. The beauty of this workout is teaching the body how to create work at the upper levels of your endurance zone, coupled with bursts of effort into the upper reaches of your threshold pace. The resulting interval creates an ave. intensity that falls with in threshold pace, but you dont actually spend more than 50% of time at threshold pace. If we look at a power profile of a long hill climb bike race, you will find a similar power distribution.

All TT clients should always feel free to consult with one of our TT coaches before and after workouts to make sure you understand the goals and methodology behind the cycling program.
