St. Patrick's Day 4 Miler Race Report

"We've arranged for the wind to be always at your back!" shouted the starter, and with a blaring of bagpipes the initial gun sounded at New England's largest 4 Mile Roadrace. The Warren Street, Saint Patrick's Day Classic, hosted it's 30th running at Jennings Beach in Fairfield this past weekend. An outstanding temperature of 50 degrees accompanied a stiff wind. Still, runners from TargeTraining's Endurance Club effortlessly unloaded a smattering of personal bests while competing against some of the region's best local talent.
The pace blitzed reckless from the start, as a trio of lead runners including Duathlon World Champion, Eneas Freyre, and TargeTraining Running Coach, Timothy Milenkevich, blasted an opening mile of 4:55. Sixteen minutes later Eneas cruised to a smooth 2nd place finish, with Timothy bounding in 3rd thereafter. Scott Beauregard exhibited good form, running 6:25 per mile to finish just 3 seconds off an age group podium. Brad Hardy ditched his cycling regimen for the morning and ran 6:58's, one second faster per mile than Club Member Jeff Casucci who ran 6:59's. It was a tremendous day for all involved, and a prodigious omen of distinguished results to come, for the TT Endurance Club!
